Environmental Systems Analysis Lab, University of Padua (LASA), Italy

The Environmental Systems Analysis Lab (LASA) belongs to the Department of Chemical Processes of Engineering of the University of Padua. LASA carries out researches on modelling of water quality (particularly eutrophication), diffuse pollution and trophic network in marine and lagoons waters.
LASA (directed by Dr. L. Palmeri) comprises 5 researchers and 4 technicians, with different backgrounds:physicists, chemists, biologists and engineers. Furthermore LASA collaborates closely with other research groups of the University of Padua (e.g. fishery biology research group).

Guardians of the Oceans documentary
This short documentary by Futuris gives a glimpse into how researchers on several European marine projects are trying to assess the oceans of tomorrow.  It considers overfishing, pollution, coastal degradation and other issues relevant to the KnowSeas project.
